Through highly experienced numerical scientists, ERTF Composites offers process modelling services for new manufacturing technologies. Simulation services for mechanical calculation and for design of concept parts and molds are also offered.
Our well known capabilities in process modeling offer our customers the following benefits:
- Modeling of complex injection or infusion processes such as Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), Vacuum Assisted RTM, Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion (VARI), injection compression, RTM-Light and many other flexible injection processes.
- Formation of voids, air trapment and dry spots caused by improper impregnation of the fibrous reinforcement at macro and microscopic scales can be numerical predicted.
- Prediction of shearing effects on fabrics due to lamination sequence and draping of the laminate into the mold. A scientific approach developed by our engineers is used to calculate the impact of fabric draping on part filling and on part quality.
- Channel effects can be numerically reproduced around part ribs, T-shapes or thickness variations or can be forced to appear on mold gaps.
- Improvement of the injection strategy via the analysis and comparison of selected injection conditions to ensure fullfilling of the part in a quick and economical way.
