Reliable and proper mechanical response of composites under specific thermal, chemical or dynamical conditions is frequently required during the process of bringing a new product to market.
We offer our customers the following methods for polymer composites characterization :
- Static mechanical testing. Based on ASTM, ISO, NASA, etc. standards, static mechanical testing of composite laminates are routinely conducted by ERFT engineers.
- Thermo-mechanical testing. Thermo-mechanical tests are frequently carried out under well controlled thermal and environmental conditions ranging from -100 up to 400°C. Traction, compaction, three-point bending and many other test samples can be treated for macro and micro mechanical testing.
- Visco-elastic testing. Creep and/or stress relaxation tests are useful tests for reinforced polymer parts subject to dynamic charges. Our experienced scientists have developed models that allow us to characterize and understand the complex visco-elastic behaviour of composite laminates.
